Trump re-posts 17 tweets about his Nobel Peace Prize nomination in 30 minutes

US President Donald Trump.JONATHAN ERNST / ReutersUS President Donald Trump re-posted 17 tweets on his Twitter account from other pages that talked about his nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize, after the UAE and Israel reached the normalization agreement.

Trump posted on his website at least 17 tweets in just 30 minutes and commented on two of them by saying “Thank you.”

Christian Tebring Jedi, a deputy in the Norwegian Parliament for the right-wing Progress Party, sent a letter to the Norwegian Nobel Prize Committee, requesting that Trump be registered among the candidates for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2021.

The parliamentarian referred to the pivotal role played by the Trump administration in efforts to establish relations between Israel and the UAE, stressing that “the agreement between Tel Aviv and Abu Dhabi may represent a turning point thanks to which the Middle East will become an area for cooperation and prosperity,” especially since other regional countries are expected to follow. Follow the example of the Emirates.

Tebring Jedi had nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize as well in 2019, and he attributed this to the US president’s diplomatic efforts to reduce tension with North Korea.

And the US President had previously considered, in a statement he made in 2019, that he could be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize “for many things if presented from honest positions.”

But he stressed that the committee concerned with presenting this award is not doing so in a fair way, recalling the example of his predecessor, former US President Barack Obama, saying that “it is not clear why he obtained it.”
