Prominent Bahraini Shiite cleric, Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassem.twitter / @ALWEFAQThe prominent Bahraini Shiite cleric, Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassem, has expressed his rejection of the normalization of relations between Arab countries and Israel, calling on the peoples of the region to resist.
In a speech published by the Bahraini Islamic National Accord Society, a dissolved opposition party close to the cleric, Qassem said today, Sunday: “Each of the official ruling Arab regimes knows those who proceeded or advanced normalization with the Israeli enemy that this normalization is through God’s legislative will. The Almighty and also for the will of the nation’s people, and that it represents a response to both the American and Israeli will, while it is aware of his severe harm to the nation and the Israeli-American hostility towards it.
And Qassem, who is considered the most prominent Bahraini Shiite cleric, continued: “This is nothing except for the absolute lack of desire for justice with the peoples and the desire to monopolize the entire government and the privileges and opportunities that it offers, and because of what it sees as the compliance with the American and Israeli will against the nation and its religion, allowing it to tighten its arrest. People must put their breaths out. “
Within less than a month, two Arab countries, the UAE and Bahrain, announced that agreements had been reached to normalize relations with Israel, as a result of mediation efforts by the administration of the US President, Donald Trump.
After signing these agreements, the number of Arab countries that reached peace with Israel and established formal relations with it will increase to 4, after Egypt (in 1979) and Jordan (in 1994).
