The international coalition leaves the Taji base and hands over training sites to Iraqi forces

The US-led international coalition against “ISIS” announced that its forces had left the Taji base in the north of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, and had handed over their facilities there, worth 347 million dollars, to the Iraqi forces.

The coalition said in a statement, today, Sunday: “The Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve – handed over the site occupied by the coalition forces in Camp Taji in Iraq to the Iraqi Security Forces in a ceremony held today, August 23, 2020.”

The statement added that “the site designated for the coalition forces was handed over to the Iraqi side thanks to the successes achieved by the Iraqi security forces in the ongoing campaign to defeat ISIS.”

In his statement, he explained that “the equivalent of $ 347 million worth of equipment, assets and facilities at Camp Taji was delivered to the Government of Iraq,” noting that these represent “the highest material value in dollars for any of the bases that were delivered.”
