During a press briefing, the government spokesman, Steven Seibert, responded with yes to the question of whether he could confirm the authenticity of the report, although he denied describing Merkel’s meeting with Navalny as “secret”, rather it was a “private visit,” and the conversation between them took place “in private.” “.

On August 22, the Russian blogger and activist, Alexei Navalny, was transferred to the Charité Hospital in Berlin from the Russian city of Omsk, two days after he was hospitalized in a local hospital following a severe deterioration of his health while on a domestic flight. The German government announced, based on data from military doctors, that Navalny was affected by a highly toxic substance from the “Novichok” family, calling on the Russian authorities to provide “clarifications” in this regard.

For its part, Moscow denies that there is any evidence of poisoning in Navalny’s analyzes, which were taken in Omsk, and asks Berlin to present the results of his tests at the German hospital.

On September 23, the Charité administration reported that Navalny had left the hospital in good condition, noting that doctors did not rule out his full recovery.
