The Chinese President: We do not intend to wage a cold or hot war against any country

Chinese President Xi Jinping announced today, Tuesday, that his country does not intend to engage in wars with other countries, stressing Beijing’s adherence to resolving differences by “peaceful means.”

In a videotaped address to the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Xi said China “has no intention of waging a cold or hot war against any country.”

“We will continue to settle differences and resolve disputes with others through dialogue and discussion, and we will not seek to get involved in a zero-sum game,” the Chinese president said.

Turning to economic issues, Xi said the world should say “no to unilateralism and protectionism,” adding that the World Trade Organization should remain the cornerstone of global trade.
