Srinagar: 23rd January 2020: On 17-12-20 at about 1400hrs Police Station Shergarhi received an information that one Santro Vehicle has hit a person near deaf & dumb School solina namely, Junaid Ahmad Dar (Age 26 Yrs) S/o Ab. Hamid Dar R/o Asnoor Kulgam who has been shifted to SMHS hospital in critical condition.
On receipt of this information a case under FIR No: 78/20 U/S 337, 279 IPC was registered and investigation takenup. The injured person later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital on 23-12-2020 and accordingly Section 304-A IPC was added in the case.
During investigation the available CCTV footage along the road from Jahangir Chowk to Rambagh were obtained and thoroughly analyzed & during analysis of CCTVs footage, as per the date and time one suspicious white color santro vehicle with DL number ( digits not clearly visible) was spotted & hunt for the vehicle was started and wide coverage was also given on all media platforms.
During investigation, 04 to 05 such vehicles were also detained and verified at police station based on technical analysis. The RTO offices of New Delhi for various such DL vehicles & Registered service centers of Hyundai based in Delhi & Kashmir were contacted at length for tracing out this vehicle and it was found that this vehicle was serviced at Samara Hyundai New Delhi in year 2008 and the vehicle was then brought to Kashmir and sold to different owners. In the mean time Human surveillance was also mounted in the area to look for any such suspicious vehicle & the investigating team after putting strenuous efforts, finally zeroed in one accused namely:
Mushtaq Ahmad Dar
S/o M Assadullah Dar
R/o Hardashoora A/P Faizan Colony Naiyak, Bagh Nowgam, on being put to thorough questioning has confessed his involvement in the commission of the crime and the involved vehicle also recovered & and has been corroborated with the technical evidences collected in the case. The said accused has been arrested in the case along with his White Santro Car, involved in the commission of the said Crime.
