Senior White House adviser Jared Kushner played down Saudi silence regarding the agreement to establish relations between Israel and the UAE, expressing his conviction that Riyadh reaching full normalization with Tel Aviv is inevitable.
Kushner stressed, in an interview published on Friday by the American “CNBC” channel, that the normalization agreement between Israel and the UAE represents a “historic step”, despite Saudi Arabia’s failure to support it.
“Saudi Arabia has certainly been a great leader in modernization efforts, but you cannot change the course of a warship overnight,” he said.
At the same time, US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law expressed his conviction that there are other Arab countries interested in moving forward with establishing diplomatic relations with Israel, adding: “At that time, when things will develop, I think it is inevitable that Saudi Arabia and Israel reach a full normalization of relations, And we can achieve many great successes together. “
Kushner suggested that the new generation in Saudi Arabia, unlike their parents, admires Israel and sees it as a “Silicon Valley in the Middle East” and wants Tel Aviv to become a technical, security and commercial partner for his country.
