Kushner: Normalization with Israel allows Muslims to take precedence over their national interests over the Palestinians

The White House chief adviser, Jared Kushner, announced that the normalization agreements concluded by Israel with the UAE and Bahrain will allow Islamic countries to place their national interests above the interests of the Palestinians.

The Times of Israel quoted Kushner, the son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, as saying during a press briefing on Friday, after the announcement that Bahrain and Israel reached an agreement to establish diplomatic relations: “This will reduce tension in the Islamic world and will allow For people to separate the Palestinian cause from their national interests and foreign policies, which must focus on their internal priorities. “

He pointed out that there is an article in the text of Israel’s agreements with the UAE and Bahrain, as well as in the American peace plan known in the media as the “deal of the century”, which includes Israel’s pledge to allow Muslims to visit Al-Aqsa Mosque and perform prayers there.

Kushner held the “extremists” responsible for “distorting” the issue of Israel’s control over the Temple Mount and its exploitation with the aim of spreading discrimination and hatred among people.

Kushner described the Bahraini monarch, Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, as a “true advocate of tolerance” in the region, and continued that during his visit to Manama last year, he presented the Bahraini king with a scroll of the Torah that was written in his honor.

The American consultant said that an increasing number of countries are taking the initiative to “study how to do more good things for their citizens,” adding that “it is inevitable that all countries in the Middle East will reach normalization with Israel.”
