Right Now Times : American rapper Kanye West has announced his candidacy for the presidency of the United States in the elections scheduled for November 3.
It is time to fulfill America’s promise, West said on Twitter.
West immediately received the support of billionaire and tech giant Elon Musk.
Right Now Times : West is known as a friend of US President Donald Trump and a fan of him. His wife, the famous superstar Kim Kardashian, has visited the White House more than once to discuss prison reforms.
“We must now fulfill America’s promise by trusting in the Lord, unifying our vision, and building our future. I will run for the presidency of the United States,” wrote West on Twitter.
Right Now Times : It was not immediately clear if West was serious about announcing his candidacy for the election three months ahead of time, and if he had deposited the required candidacy papers. He also did not provide any details of his campaign.
Despite this, Elon Musk, Tesla CEO, spoke to West via Twitter, saying, “You have my full support.”
The deadline for adding independent ballot papers in several states has not yet passed, according to Reuters.
Right Now Times : West was a celebrity who spoke out against President Trump. He visited him in 2018 at his office in the White House, where he embraced and bestowed him with praise and compliments.
But in an interview in 2019, West said his support for Trump was to stir Democrats, and he expressed his desire to run for the presidency.
“There will come a time when I become the president of the United States,” he said in the interview.
Right Now Times : West’s announcement comes days after it released a new song, “We Washed Up in Blood,” which depicted scenes of anti-racist protests that swept the United States recently.
Right Now Times : President Trump has been under fire for weeks for criticizing how to manage the Corona virus and deal with anti-racist protests. He is currently lagging in public opinion polls for his Democratic opponent, Joe Biden, according to Agence France-Presse.
There was no comment from the two candidates Monday on West’s announcement that he wanted to enter the race for the White House.
