To provide impetus and to generate mass awareness among the masses about the Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Yojana and the Beti Bachao; Beti Padhao campaign in the district, the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh Kunar Shavan today flagged off a Padyatra from the DC office complex.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sher Singh; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Mohd Ashraf; District Statistical and Evaluation Officer (Nodal Officer BBBP), Bilal Mir, Officer from Department of youth services and Sports, Health Department; Administrator OSC, Neetu Sharma; Women Welfare Officer, Anum Mirza, District Coordinators MSK and teachers of the different participating school were present during the flag-off ceremony.
Students of different schools/ college, officers, teachers and members of social organisations actively participated in the Padyatra which started from the DC office complex and after passing through Gujjar Mandi market culminated at PWD Dak Bungalow Rajouri.
Nodal Officer BBBP, Bilal Rashid Mir said that Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana is a noble initiative by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Government of India which is now making an impact on the masses in its endeavour to provide quality medicines at an affordable price.
He asked the students to generate massive awareness in the society about the BBBP campaign and the ambitious Jan Aushadhi programme of the Government and motivate them to avail the benefits of various kinds of services being made available for the general public under the said programme.
The Deputy Commissioner said the objective of the celebration of Jan Aushadi week is to create awareness about the use of generic medicines and other initiatives launched by the government of India and the Government of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in the directions of making quality and affordable health care services for all the citizens like Sehat; Ayushman Bharat; Pardhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana etc.
“The Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadi Pariyojana was launched by Hon’ble PM of India in India with the sole objectives to provide high-quality medicines and health services to the citizens especially the poor or underprivileged through exclusive Outlets called Jan Aushadhi stores”, the Deputy Commissioner added.
At present, there are ten Janaushidi Kendras in the district out of which the one at GMC&AH is functional and the remaining nine shall be made functional soon to provide necessary benefits to the common masses.
About the Mega and continuous Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign, it is pertinent to mention here that it is one of the most successful campaigns in the district. Several programs are being organised by Mahila Shakti Kendra in collaboration with other departments daily.
The programs are not restricted to the towns but the Departments have successfully launched the campaigns in peripheral areas.
