Iran calls for oversight of Saudi nuclear activities.

Ali Akbar SalehiLeonhard Foeger / ReutersThe head of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization, Ali Akbar Salehi, called on the International Atomic Energy Agency to “control Saudi nuclear activities in an unambiguous and neutral manner.”

Salehi also called during the meeting of the General Assembly of the International Atomic Energy Agency via video link, to the necessity of joining “the Israeli entity to the Treaty on the Limitation of Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons urgently and without preconditions.”

Salehi said that destructive US measures should be confronted, in order to preserve the nuclear deal and international multilateralism.

Iran expressed earlier its concern about the existence of a “secret Saudi nuclear weapons program,” calling on the International Atomic Energy Agency to provide clarifications on it and submit a report about it to the members of the agency.
