Germany: We provided 2 billion euros in aid to Iraq

The foreign ministers of Iraq and GermanyReutersGerman Foreign Minister Heiko Maas announced today, Monday, that his country has provided two billion euros in aid to Iraq to support and enhance its stability.

“We have provided two billion euros to Iraq as aid, and we value the reform project to boost the economy in Iraq,” Maas said in a press conference held today with his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein, who is visiting Germany.

For his part, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein said, “Our relationship with Germany is important in various fields, and we thank the German government for its continuous support to Iraq in its war against ISIS.”

He added, “Germany has helped build various hospitals in Iraq.”
