An earthquake of magnitude 6.2 hits South Africa

The US Geological Survey announced that an earthquake of magnitude 6.2 struck South Africa on Saturday evening.

The epicenter of the quake, which occurred at a depth of 10 km, was determined at the confluence of 48.0635 degrees south latitude and 31.6744 degrees east longitude.

The “Center for Disaster Risk Management” in South Africa indicated that the earthquake did not damage the infrastructure, nor was a tsunami notification issued.
