A US judge stops Trump administration order banning Tik Tok downloads

A US judge in Washington has temporarily suspended an order issued by the Trump administration that prevents Apple and Alphabet’s Google search engine from enabling TikTok downloads that were scheduled for 11.59 p.m. Sunday.

Late Sunday evening, US District Court Judge Carl Nichols approved a preliminary injunction sought by TikTok’s owner, ByteDance, to allow the app to continue to exist in US app stores.

The judge refused to refuse “for the time being” to suspend the additional restrictions of the Ministry of Commerce, which are due to take effect on November 12, which TikTok said would make the application impossible to use in the United States.
