A source for RT reveals the details of the agreement between the Yemeni parties in Geneva

A source involved in the Yemeni talks in Geneva revealed that the Yemeni government and the Houthi “Ansar Allah” had agreed to exchange 1081 prisoners from both sides, and that the next round might be based on the principle of “all for all.”

Today, Sunday, our Geneva correspondent, quoting a source involved in the talks of the Yemeni prisoners’ file, stated that among the agreed upon release of 19 prisoners from the Saudi-led coalition, including 15 Saudis and 4 Sudanese.

The source said that a supplementary meeting is expected to be held at the end of next month with the aim of expanding the deal to include the four detainees held by “Ansar Allah”, including the brother of President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

The source also indicated that the next round of talks is supposed to include all prisoners and be on the “all for all principle.”

Earlier, a source close to the Yemeni government said that an agreement had been signed to release 1080 prisoners held by the government and the “Ansar Allah” Houthi group, including 19 Saudi prisoners, as a first payment.

Last Friday, talks began in the Swiss city of Montreux, between the government delegations and the “Ansar Allah” group, to discuss a prisoner exchange deal from the two parties to the conflict in Yemen.
